Seven Kingdoms: Seowyn's Crossing
Marwayn is a little town on the southern shore of Barrows Lake, at the crook where Maren’s Run splits out of the lake, heading south. The town’s roads stretch over bridges across the Run, and some distinctive buildings are built right into these buildings.
The town holds no great distinction other than its origins, as it was founded by Maren Cooper, a barrel-maker turned poacher who used the Run to flee into the then wilderness between Summerlund and Faerinwold. When Seowyn Greenfields was granted Silver Falls to be his barony, he came upon Maren’s encampment by the lake. Amused by the plucky poacher’s defiant attitude, he pardoned the man with the caveat that he’d never poach again, and a small town grew up around the former poacher’s hiding place. He died here, and the town was named Marwayn from an old term for life’s waning.
