Seven Kingdoms: Seowyn's Crossing
Kaoru is the common name for the nations of the Aeotaen race of humans. It consists primarily of the western coasts of Golognoth, but it also includes numerous islands to both the west and east of the continent. The Aeotaen guard their lands zealously, repeling enemies from their borders with lethal force. Their mastery of the magics of wind and wave have led to some theorizing that members of the Stormwalker school of magic may have emigrated to these lands, or that a parallel school of magic developed there.
Kaoru is a land of much geothermal activity, like the rest of Malhorac. Many of the larger island portions of it boast active or slumbering volcanoes. The Aeotaen have learned to deal with this, seeming quite immune to the sulphurous reek that dominates their homelands, and even turning the land to their advantage, such as working obsidian for weapons and tools, or cooking in thermal geysers.
