Seven Kingdoms: Seowyn's Crossing
Bedourin is a land of deserts, mountains, golden cities, and oases, located on the northern and eastern shores of Keshwan. It was founded after the Dawn War by the genasi. There was no single king in the land, but there were many genasi sultans, emirs, pasha, sheikhs, and caliphs, each ruling different lands and tribes. During the War of Horns, the Bedourin genasi were courted by the dragonborn of Azmartheon, and, after the war, impressed by the benefits enjoyed by the Azmarthite peoples, most of them agreed to swear fealty to the Dragon Emperor.
During the Black Fire War, Bedourin fought beside the dragonborn against the tieflings and humans of Falwyth. After The Rending, however, Bedourin was almost as devastated as Azmartheon itself. As the dragonborn left, Bedourin returned to independence, and it remains a land divided among many rulers.
Bedourin is somewhat crescent shaped where it hugs the northeastern part of Keshwan. At the western tip is the free city of Castamir, while the southern tip has the White City, Deshbara. At times, merchants trying to minimize costs try to “run the cut”, moving overland in a straight line between the two great cities. Sadly, a percentage of these runs are lost to the terrible dust storms, and it is assumed they disappear into the Desolation.
