Seven Kingdoms: Seowyn's Crossing
Abbot Justan was the kindly old leader of the Church of Shandalene in Seowyn’s Crossing. He was responsible for taking in the Minotaur boy Eustace, something which did not make him popular with all of his monks, especially his successor, Abbot Jacoby. He was a warrior in his youth, but, as a monk, his sword remained wrapped amongst his belongings, peace-tied and fallow. When he died in the spring of 1075 SKR, he willed his sword to Brother Eustace.
During his travels, Eustace eventually discovered that Justan had been a Paladin of Shandalene named Arnd who had been venerated as a Saint. As he retreated into more peaceful ways, however, he left his enchanted armor in the hands of the Deva priest, Brother Nehem. When Eustace took the coat away, he left Justan’s sword behind in its place.
